National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) is a social service scheme for undergraduate students sponsored by the ministry of Human Resources Development of Youth Affairs and Sports Govt. of India. The scheme was introduced on 24th sep 1969 , during the Gandhi Centenary year . The Motto of NSS is “Not Me But You”. The overall objective of N.S.S. is, “ the Development of Personality Through Community Service “ . Every Year 24th September is celebrated as N.S.S. day.
